Alan,i remember the 20 a side up valley park ,ha! jimmy Lindsay,Ian Patterson,Dougie Jack,against the valley boys,remember when you and dougie decided to hae a fight,Dougie sent his wee brother home for his fitbaw boots,so you both could be even,i think it ended up as a 10 on 10 brawl.

The signing of Ritchie de Laet from Royal Antwerp for approximately £100 thousand by Stoke City , the then Championship side , always appeared as if the Potters were being used as the ''trojan horse'.There can be no serious doubt, that if Manchester United had approached Royal Antwerp directly, the asking price for his signature , plus the level of interest in de Laet from other clubs would have sky - rocketed. He never plays one game for Stoke ,yet Manchester United sign de Laet. Odd indeed.Loaned to four different clubs at various levels , yet none were interested in signing him permanently.5 years at United in de Laets case and not reaching the grade, time to move on.
From a Manchester United perspectve it certainly must increase the urgency for a suitable left back to be urgently signed .de Laet transfered , Fabio de Silva we are told going on loan , reportedly to Benfica.Only Ezekiel Fryer's as a recognised left back to provide any competition to Patrice Evra for his starting berth .Should Patrice Evra suffer an injury , a serious shortage of experience and quality in the left back position-.
However good luck to both Ritchie and Matty at the King Power stadium.

A fabulous article about an incredible young man; all of his family are immensely proud of him! Since he was very small Sam has always had such determination to succeed and I know he is going to in this new chapter of his life.

I had the privalige of being trained by Jim Knight at the Checketts just before i joined the Army many moons ago, guy reminded me of Mickey from Rocky!! He hit me in the jaw a couple of times for dropping my hand, but only a couple as it made me learn fast lol

If the guy was still alive i'd thank him for what he taught me, only had 4 bouts in the Army but i won them all 3 by knockout!!
